Ethers show functional group isomerism with __________________?

A. aldehydes
B. ketones
C. alcohols
D. carboxylic acid

¨       Ethers show functional group isomerism with alcohols. Ethers and alcohols have similar molecular formulas and both contain an oxygen atom, which can result in functional group isomerism. Ethers are organic compounds that have the general formula R-O-R’, where R and R’ are alkyl or aryl groups. Alcohols, on the other hand, have the general formula R-OH. Isomerism can occur when an ether and an alcohol have the same molecular formula but different structural arrangements, resulting in different physical and chemical properties. For example, the isomers propyl ether (CH3CH2OCH2CH3) and 1-propanol (CH3CH2CH2OH) have the same molecular formula (C3H8O) but different structures and properties.
