A. polyacetylene
B. benzene
C. chloroprene
D. divinyl acetylene
¨ Vinylacetylene (also known as 1-butyne) is an unsaturated hydrocarbon with the chemical formula C4H6. It contains both a vinyl group (-CH=CH2) and an acetylene group (-C≡CH).
¨ When vinylacetylene reacts with hydrogen chloride (HCl), the HCl adds across the triple bond of the acetylene group, forming vinyl chloride (also known as chloroethene, CH2=CHCl) as an intermediate. The intermediate then reacts with another molecule of vinylacetylene to form chloroprene (also known as 2-chlorobuta-1,3-diene) with the chemical formula C4H5Cl.
