Bromine can be liberated from KBr solution by the action of _______________?

A. Iodine solution
B. Chlorine
C. NaCl
D. K

¨       Bromine can be liberated from KBr solution by the action of chlorine. This is because chlorine is more electronegative than bromine and can displace bromine from its salt, KBr, through a redox reaction. The reaction between chlorine and KBr can be represented as follows:

¨       Cl2 + 2KBr → 2KCl + Br2
