Oxygen does not react with all except_________________?

A. Alkali
B. Acid
C. Water
D. Metals

¨       Oxygen (O2) does not react with alkali metals (Group 1 elements), such as sodium (Na) and potassium (K), to form oxides under normal conditions. This is because alkali metals are highly reactive and tend to form ionic compounds with non-metals, but they form stable oxide layers on their surface when exposed to air, which prevents further reaction with oxygen.

¨       In contrast, oxygen can react with acids, water, and metals to form various oxides. For example, oxygen reacts with sulfuric acid (H2SO4) to form sulfur trioxide (SO3) and water (H2O), with water to form hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) or hydroxides, and with metals to form metal oxides.
