The main buffer system of the human blood is____________?

A. H2CO3 – HCO3
B. H2CO3 – CO32-
C. CH3COOH – CH3COO
D. NH2CONH2 – NH2CONH+

¨       H2CO3 – HCO3 is the main buffer system of human blood. It consists of carbonic acid (H2CO3) and its conjugate base, bicarbonate ion (HCO3-). This buffer system helps to maintain a stable pH in the blood by absorbing excess hydrogen ions (H+) or hydroxide ions (OH-) and releasing them when necessary.
