Which alkyl halide has the highest reactivity for a particular alkyl group ?

A. R-F
B. R-C
C. R-Br
D. R-I

  • Alkyl iodides (R-I) have the weakest carbon-halogen bond among the alkyl halides, making them the most reactive towards nucleophilic substitution reactions. In contrast, alkyl fluorides (R-F) have the strongest carbon-fluorine bond, making them the least reactive towards nucleophilic substitution reactions. Alkyl chlorides (R-Cl) and alkyl bromides (R-Br) have intermediate reactivity between alkyl fluorides and alkyl iodides.
