¨ Charles’ Law states that the volume of a given amount of gas held at constant pressure is directly proportional to the Kelvin temperature. This law is also known as the law of volumes. It was discovered by French scientist Jacques Charles in the late 18th century. According to this law, if the pressure of a gas is held constant, then the volume of the gas will increase or decrease in direct proportion to the temperature of the gas measured in Kelvin.
