Which one of the following is a bridge element?

A. Be
B. Cl
C. K
D. P

¨       Bridge elements are known to be the elements in period II of the periodic table. It is because the elements reflect the properties of the period III element, which are diagonal. Hence they are called bridge elements.

¨       These elements are diagonally opposite each other and meant for their characteristics, as they resemble the similar properties of the same element in the next group of the III period. They have identical physical properties, like polarization, atomic radius, and electronegativity. In addition, the bridge elements display the diagonal relationship with the elements of period III.

¨       For example, Beryllium & Aluminium, Boron and Silicon.
